AIMesh 2.5
Deterministic industrial wireless, built on IETF 6TiSCH
AIMesh 2.5 is the industrial wireless sensor network protocol developed by AISENZ on the IETF 6TiSCH standard, combining IEEE 802.15.4e TSCH time-slotted channel hopping, native IPv6 with RPL routing and a FLRC/FEC physical layer.
Why it is different
Scheduling, not probability
Industrial wireless has long faced a trilemma: high reliability, low power and large node counts rarely coexist. Contention-based protocols degrade exponentially as density rises. AIMesh 2.5 takes the opposite approach — TSCH divides time into slots and the spectrum into as many as 50 hopping channels, and every transmission is scheduled into a specific slot-and-channel cell. Determinism comes from the schedule rather than from luck, which is what makes these figures hold at scale.
Measured on the standard test configuration: 100 nodes, 3-hop topology, one packet per 30 seconds, multi-storey deployment.
Hardware
The AIMesh 2.5 device family
Four devices on one protocol stack and one management application — from a module embedded in an instrument to an edge gateway running local AI inference.
AP01 Border Router Gateway
The 6TiSCH root node bridging AIMesh to a wired IPv6 network. 3× Cortex-A7, +19 dBm transmit and −111 dBm sensitivity, carrying several hundred mote nodes per unit.
M01 Wireless Module
The smallest access unit in an AIMesh network. ARM Cortex-M4 with a 2.4 GHz radio in a 16 × 26 mm SMT package, running routing or leaf mode.
D01 DTU Module
Brings existing Modbus RTU instruments onto AIMesh over RS485 with no modification, and doubles as a standalone relay routing node.
E680 Edge Gateway
4× Cortex-A72 + 4× Cortex-A53 with a 6 TOPS NPU. Runs AIMesh Manager, protocol conversion and edge AI inference — including local LLM inference — on one unit.
